# Certification and Community Badges

**Why is this important?**

Certifications and community badges provide evidence that your resource has been recognised by a community or evaluated against defined criteria. They help users understand the level of community adoption, endorsement or certification associated with your resource.

**FAIR:** Supports **Reusability** by providing contextual information that helps users assess the maturity, recognition and trustworthiness of your resource.

Certification schemes and/or community badges that assess certain aspects of the repository (e.g., its fitness, trustworthiness, adoption) can be added here. Some examples include [CoreTrustSeal](https://www.coretrustseal.org/) or [ELIXIR Core Data Resources](https://www.elixir-europe.org/platforms/data/core-data-resources).
