# Organisations and Grants

{% hint style="success" %}
We **recommend** at least one *maintaining* organisation and at least one *funding* organisation for all FAIRsharing records. See the [Type of Relationship](/fairsharing/record-sections-and-fields/organisations-and-grants/organisation-role.md) section for more information.

*Please also see the general information regarding our* [*minimal curation requirements*](/fairsharing/record-sections-and-fields/how-to-update-a-record.md#minimal-curation-requirements)*.*
{% endhint %}

## Organisations

Organisations are shared across all of FAIRsharing, and you may find your organisation is already present.

Click here to link an organisation to your record.

Begin by clicking on the "(+) Add a New Relationship" square (shown above) to link your record to an organisation.

Search for the organisation you wish to link to your record by typing its name or abbreviation into the "Select an organisation" field.

Search for the organisation you wish to link to your record by typing its name or abbreviation into the "Select an organisation" field (shown above). If it is already present in FAIRsharing, choose it from the pull-down menu of matching organisations. Then select the [type of relationship](/fairsharing/record-sections-and-fields/organisations-and-grants/organisation-role.md) linking the organisation to your record and press CONFIRM.

However, if you cannot find your organisation then you can add a new one via the "+ADD NEW" button (also shown above). You will then be prompted to add organisation information as outlined in the following sections.
